Show everyone what they’re missing

However attractive your event or brilliant the marketing in the run-up to your event you will never get everyone that you invited to attend. 

Communicating to those who can’t make it is just as important as marketing at the event.  You need to whet their appetite for your next event.   Create a short and easily identifiable hash tag and use it all of your event communications including publications, emails and of course social media posts.   

Encourage your event attendees to post to social media while they’re there using your hash tag to connect conversations and generate a buzz around your event.   

A live social media wall is a great way to get people talking about your event on social media. Audience interaction is optimised through attendees wanting to see their posts displayed on the big screen and every social post created using your hash tag publicly promotes your event. Win win!

Make them flock to you

The main reason people attend a business event or conference is for the business benefits, sure. But who doesn’t like to have a bit of fun?   

Provide an opportunity for visitors to interact, play or party and they will be much more inclined to attend and might bring some colleagues along too.   

Virtual Reality opens the door to all kinds of interaction and engagement. A great example of this is the Boursin Sensorium 360 virtual reality experience, which took visitors on a magical ride through a food lovers fridge. The VR experience was the centrepiece to the Boursin Sensorium roadshow, and included the integration of aroma machines, fans and 3D binaural sound to emphasise the feeling of actually being on a rollercoaster traversing through a well-stocked fridge.

On a smaller scale, an interactive virtual reality installation with cleverly designed content that reflects your brand messaging is a highly effective way of attracting traffic to your stand at an exhibition or trade show.

Create a conversation that carries on after the doors close

Give visitors the opportunity to engage in a unique and personalised interaction with your brand from their own mobile phone.   

Mobile phones are more powerful than ever and people are happy to download apps on the go if it gives them access to a rich augmented reality experience.  Of course they’ll need to register some details to receive access to the AR content so you receive valuable data that allows you to continue a dialogue with the visitor long after the event improving your chances of converting that initial conversation into business.
